Ridgewood BBQ Best BBQ. Ever. Even if it's just an old truck stop. Go early, there's always a line. Main Street Pizza Best pizza AND best breakfast in town. Label Restaurant Great food and drinks downtown. Perfect if you are looking for something a little fancier! Pals It's worth a stop at those weird blue buildings with hot dogs on top. One Acre Cafe Only open weekdays for lunch, but all funds benefit the community. Johnson City Brewing Company Small, family-owned brewery in downtown. Great beer and board games. Yeehaw Brewery and White Duck Taco Awesome place to hang out, drink a beer, and eat some tacos downtown. Tennessee Hills Distillery Our favorite local business making the best shines and rums anywhere. Sierra Nevada Brewery It is worth the hour drive to Asheville. Amazing food, beer, and outdoor spaces. |
Outdoors
Buffalo Mountain Lots of great hiking trails and only a 15 minute drive from downtown! Tweetsie Trail Easy walking and biking trail from Johnson City to Elizabethton. Founders Park Nice walking park right by the Farmers Market. Music after 5:00 pm on Fridays. Winged Deer Park Great park for walking and to play disc golf. Roan Mountain Beautiful state park for hiking about 45 minutes from town. The Channels Incredible hike through rock formations in Virginia about 1.5 hours away. Bristol Caverns Take a tour of the caverns. We haven't done this, but it looks cool! Rocky Fork State Park More cool hiking trails about 25 minutes from town. |

Johnson City Farmers Market Open Saturday from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm. Lots of amazing food! International Storytelling Center World-renowned center in Jonesborough. Check out their site to attend an event! Downtown Jonesborough Oldest town in Tennessee. Full of cute shops and restaurants, but closes early. East Tennessee State University Explore the place where Trey spends most of his waking hours - it's actually quite pretty! Milligan College Small, but beautiful college campus. Drive down the road to see Emily's school! Asheville Only an hour away through the mountains. Lots of great food, breweries, and hiking. Hendersonville Another cute town beyond Asheville. Lots of cute shops and good food! |
